Engaging and collaborating with others, especially when times are “unprecedented” goes a long way.
What does that look like? It looks like inviting and valuing their unique capabilities even when you don’t see eye to eye.
Seeing the value in them even when you don’t agree is crucial to growing and maintaining your career.
Here’s a bonus challenge in time for Election Day- think of a politician you agree with the LEAST and find just one of their policies you see value in, even if you don’t completely agree. Once you’ve done that, go in to the next politician and look for 2 policies you can value, and so on. (Partial agreement counts!)
Before you know it, you’ll be collaborating with and acknowledging people who think differently from you on a daily basis.
