Stay In the Zone

A recent survey of 800 US workers revealed that 98% of employees say they perform better when they are confident.

Not surprising when I think back to how I pretty much lacked any sense of creativity when I was feeling fearful or self-conscious. It's just about the opposite of being "in the zone."

This is important because internalizing the criticism and negativity from your environment can really chip away at your confidence.

While you don't have control over other people's actions, you do have control over how you respond.

As soon as you recognize that criticism from a bad boss is more a reflection of the criticizer than of you, you take back your power and get to choose how to react or how not to react.
