Pretending to be someone you are not is one of the most difficult and stress-inducing human experiences. It feels bad and is emotionally draining.
This pretending to be someone else sometimes starts as admiration of another's qualities or strength, which in itself is not bad. However, the problem lies in trampling your values and own self-love to mold yourself to another's "perfect" image.
Perfection is a booby prize - no matter how good it looks. Self-expression and authenticity are where peace and self-love live and bring with them a tremendous sense of fulfillment and pride. Go ahead and focus on your strengths and on continuing to grow your capabilities... but be sure it's in way that makes you more YOU, not someone else. Being yourself allows your creativity to flow which opens the door to achieving just about anything. Embrace your "you-ness".
